We Did It!!
On July 13, 2018, the Atlantica Party Executive met with officials of Elections Nova Scotia (ENS) to determine the future of the party. After presenting our case to ENS, as we expected, a common sense agreement was reached consisting of a clear pathway to reinstatement on or before July 23, 2018.
This is a major victory for democracy! As an all-volunteer organization, we have been struggling to meet the stringent rules of engagement in the election process and have won a short, but fair reprieve.
At this crucial time, we need all the support from faithful supporters such as you. We have time-sensitive financial obligations to satisfy and have no doubt that with your and others support, these obligations will easily be met. No amount is too small!
Under the Elections Act, we are currently not allowed to accept donations, however, we are allowed to accept pledges which can be honoured after we are reinstated (on or before July 23). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, civic address, and pledge amount. Pledges can be made for either a one-time donation or a monthly donation. Please note that you must currently be a resident of Nova Scotia and remain a resident on the day that your pledge is honoured.
To hear more about the successful appeal of our suspension, unprecedented in Nova Scotia, and likely Canadian history, please tune in to the Sheldon MacLeod Show today (July 17th) at 1:30 pm on News 95.7 FM.
Thank you for your continued support that allowed us to remain motivated to fight this suspension and win!!
